The bad news is not so earth shattering but we, here, cannot believe that "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is nominated for best picture for the Oscar's. Once again, we managed to laugh through an entire movie, and felt that even Brad Pitt was embarrassed about his role as he became younger and younger. It was a poor remake of "Forrest Gump" and I detested that movie as well. We, as consumers, have too often been made to say that something that is foolish is much greater than that.
The good news is more gratifying. For one, JS's friend who works on the board of a major not-for-profit agency has agreed to join the CCC's board as a favor to us. She will be astounded at the level of inertia, but hopefully together, we will push forward some important measures.
Also, I have been in contact with a huge fundraising charity and I think I am beginning to see an end in sight. Here I am, a lowly board member, who no one really appreciates and I have brought in new funding, and connections for improved health care and job training. I thank my entire posse for doing the research with me, and for providing me with the support needed to keep moving forward. I can't really spell out what is going on here but it has been kind of incredible.
One bit of bad news is that Jack ate part of one of my favorite slippers as I was sitting and typing. I am going to have to learn to balance of part of one heel.
