Looking Bad

When Papa J came home today, he said "Aw, you look so sick."  Then he confessed that last evening he thought I was getting the flu.  Actually, I don't feel so bad but got to use being sick for skipping out on some social obligations.

This morning I was able to watch "Out of Africa" in its entirety. It is probably my favorite movie of all time because of Meryl Streep who is most dazzling in her role as Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen). It's a rare day when I will sit on the couch and watch an entire movie, so this was kind of special.

After that, well I pretty much did nothing except for a little knitting and sewing.  Jackie and I took a long nap this afternoon while Pablo vigilantly guarded the abode. Then Dad came home early to give me a break, and to bestow coffee and a doughnut. Yesterday, he bought me a trilogy of books to keep me occupied. It's kind of funny when you look bad, yet feel not so bad as you appear.

I hope my girls are feeling better.

Below is a photo of a woman in Copenhagen.  Meryl Streep's costumes were reminiscent of our photos of a few Danish women . Then there is a small watercolor done by Miss NB of another Danish woman.  The green embroidered thing is a Sashiko (Japanese, not Danish) pillow I made for JM.
