Here is the link to one of my most favorite blogs, ZooBorns. We've all been looking at photos of animals born in captivity and enjoying them immensely. Personally, I don't enjoy visiting zoos because I always feel sorry for the animals who are kept from their native habitats. From the pictures in this blog, it appears that they are doing a more humane job of recreating more typical environments for the animals. And my, the baby animals are so adorable.
I started to read a book about a zoo in Warsaw during the Holocaust . It's called "The Zookeeper's Wife" by Diane Ackerman, who is an excellent naturalist writer. It became a little painful to read so I put it down for a couple of weeks but will finish it soon.
Speaking of animals, I am finding our dogs difficult to get along with as they steal and beg, and take away my personal space. Pablo now imagines that he is a tiny dog and tries to sit on my lap. Sometime in the midst of work last evening I developed a cold (joining ranks with NB and JS). I just want to be left alone to sip tea and blow my nose.
Dr. F told me last evening, among several unexpected and extremely funny comments, that PWDs are said to have a canine metabolic disease much like Tay Sachs. I was only listening with half an ear as I did my notes, but went home to look it up. Apparently it is documented that Porties have a similar storage disease. Is Pablo part of our gene pool? I hope not.
I went to Blick before work and bought fabric paint, but really more like crayons. I also bought some interesting stencils because my freehand drawing is not consistent. Will post the results if they are adequate.
Am I rambling?
