Above are some randomly taken photos taken during a brief visit to NYC. I have to apologize for no photo of JBN, my most gracious host. I just really took out my camera at odd times.
In the first photo, Eric at the salon put JS's hair in dreads. He claims to be able to straighten any type of curly hair. JS beat him in the reverse because he couldn't get her hair to stay in dreads or curls. I am still very uncertain about what was done to my hair while there.
In the next photo, JM is politely covering her mouth while eating dinner. I, not so politely, took her photo while she was chewing. We all wish her a very Happy Birthday!
We proceeded on to Lincoln Center amidst a throng of darkly coated people in the rain. The Metropolitan Opera House is impressive even in the rain. The music of Madame Butterfly is still running through my head.
We caught up with Mr. C who I haven't seen in way too long. We walked around lower Manhattan and had lunch together before JM joined us for a little while. Everyone, please come home! I miss you all so much.
The final photo is of a box of Finnish chalk that I bought. I am always thinking of ways to mark fabric for quilting and the consistency of this chalk seemed promising. I tried out a sample by drawing on my wool coat. It was one of several purchases that I went to NY to make and it is the most utilitarian.
We kept pretty busy during this visit, but also had some down time to sit and chat or to watch TV. I really enjoyed myself.
