Occasionally I will make a move in deleting files or cookies that I mostly regret. This week I emptied out everything in my browser including my passwords. I don't keep them on a keychain or anywhere else, so basically I have to reinvent myself. This kind of gesture is beneficial in reviewing what is valuable and what is not. I was upset not to be able to log in to this blog and it made me realize that writing in this space is still important to me.
I just spoke to Miss NB at her genetics conference. She has been mistaken for an established physician many times over. Credit goes to Dr. H who has given her the opportunity to develop an interesting research topic for him, and then to make her the first presenter at a conference of scientists and doctors. Crazy, really.
Last eve I worked with Dr. K. (K) who I have spoken well of previously. She was just voted one of the top 10 pediatricians in Boston. She is modest and just smiles and says that it's nice. I was pleased that the x-ray I made her wait for with me last eve shed good information on a situation and she said, "Good call." She also helped me to process what to do with a teenager who has sickle cell disease who presented with sternum pain. At first I talked at the girl and her mother but then I realized that they know best about the girl's status and listened to them instead. We made decisions together about how to progress.
I know the medical students are having lots of experiences and I want to encourage them to write about them, if they want. The business part of the family can write as well. I am kind of boring. Ask Pablo and Jackie.
